Wooden Boat Parade
Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines! I enjoy seeing all the classic wooden boats out on the water for the July 4th wooden boat parade. To hear the roar of those engines as they make their way up Upper Saranac Lake, churning up the water, is such a festive occasion. So many boaters, paddlers and others assembled on their docks, many waving flags or decked out in red, white and blue, admire the boats as they go by. I guess this has been a "tradition" for over 20 years. This seems like the offical opening of summer on Upper Saranac Lake.
